It feels good to give back what I was given in the past.
Therefore, almost every spring term I would apply to join the program, and luckily this summer we had the retreat in person again.
We had the community building training at Camp Magruder where is famous for summer camp.
It was a little challange to present hands on experiment on line during the virtural meeting. I happen to have both online and in-person teaching experience this summer.
For sure that sharing slides with students is easier than writing on the white board.
In the past, I always joined the grouo order for getting some ZongZi. The price was less than $3 each in 2017. This time I was not prepared to order any rice dumpling before Dragon Boat Festival since I was getting too busy to think about it.

Last month there was a heat wave caused by climate change.

When I checked my calander last week, I found out Dragon Boat Festival day was right at the corner. Therefore, I went to Asian Market to get some Chinese Sticky Rice Dumpling.
This is a sweet boiled dumpling stuffed with red bean paste. It costs $6.39 for two Red bean Rice dumpling.
The Japanese Curry Paste was from my care package which my family sent to me a couple months ago.
I only know one way to make curry meal.
Prepare quater onion, two potato, few baby carrot, and tofu. Cut all ingredients into small cubes.
Spring blooming is always so attractive, and I did pick some flowers for making a Mother's Day card.
It took almost one month to dry the flowers before I could glue the flowers on the card.
When the Rose starts to blossom, it's time for Portland Rose Festivals, but this year it is happening on line.

As the school starts at the end of last month, we are having events to get more information in different field.
For a note to myself, I would keep writing a summary to have a record of each seminar if I have available time.

Hiking is a very popular activity for us to do during the weekend, but remember that is also very important for knowing your ability. Do not over use your energy when you go hiking.
Last month before the Fall term started, we went hiking in the Indian Point Loop where starting point located at Herman Creek Trailhead .
Portland is famous as a bridges town. Only when I went hiking I can have nice views to see those bridges.
There are several hiking trails in Portland, and some of them are short enough for me to walk in one hour.
Paris sounds so far away for me to flight over, but luckily Portland Art Museum is holding something related to travel back to Paris from Jun 8th 2019 to Sep 8 2019.
In the museum, there were oil paint, clothes, and lots of exibition.
Just received an E-mail about celebrating the end of a great school year! In other words, it's time for some graduating students to say goodbye and moveon to their new chapter in the inductory or somewhere else.
To me this term is a very nice one, maybe the main reason is the day time getting longer make me happier than winter term.
To be honest, I like the spring term the best, not only the weather is getting warmer, but also the lab experiments are having so much fun!
This term the teaching lab is related to waves and optics. (Sometimes we need to work in the dark but we still have good time in the lab.)
