Do you ever see Yukizuri create Winter Scenery in nature ? Why there are huge tringle frames in the garden? They are there to protect trees from heavy snow damage the tree. Yukizuri Create Winter Scenery 

The first weekend of January I was able to have free admission from my bank to enjoy the celebration of new year in Portland Japaness Garden.

We happened to visit Portland Japanese Garden where Kado Mastsu , 門松（かどまつ / Kado matsu） is available.

The decoration really brings the festive atmosphere. Since pine trees normally grow for a long time, it presents family members to live a long life and bamboo means several generations. These are used to pray for bringing blessing to protect the family.

The Kagami Michi 鏡餅（かがみもち / Kagami mochi）is used to welcome the yearly god to bring good luck and smooth new coming year.       

We also had the chance to enjoy the cultural performance with storytelling and traditional instruments played.

Visiting the garden to refresh mindset is a great way to start the new year in a nice and welcoming vibe.

1 月的第一個週末被認為是新年慶祝週末。我們碰巧參觀了波特蘭日本花園，那裡有 Kado Mastsu ， 門松（かどまつ / Kado matsu）。

裝飾真的帶來了節日的氣氛。由於松樹通常生長時間長，因此家庭成員可以長壽，而竹子意味著幾代人。這些是用來祈求帶來祝福以保護家庭的。

鏡餅（かがみもち / 鏡麻糬）是用來迎接一年一度的神，以帶來好運和順利的新年。  

我們還有機會欣賞了講故事和演奏傳統樂器的文化表演。  

參觀花園以刷新心態是在美好和溫馨的氛圍中開始新年的好方法。
