This afternoon I received an email from my university to mention about the upcoming heat wave.

One year ago, our region experienced record-setting high temperatures. The Heat Dome of June 2021 was an extreme case, but a poignant reminder that we must anticipate the dangers of high and extreme heat in the summer months. After an unusually cool and wet spring, summer weather is expected to begin in earnest, with temperatures forecast to reach the 90s this weekend.  

It was extreme heat in the summer months one year ago, and I am not looking forward to experience it this year, but we don't have the power to change the weather.

The only thing I can do is to stay in the lab as much as possible this weekend, so I can be in a cool place to work on my research.

很難想像前幾天氣溫大約在攝氏十幾度，早晚出門還在穿外套。這兩天已經出現夏季高溫熱浪警告，週末氣溫會從清晨舒適的攝氏十三度上升到下午的攝氏三十四度。

看來也不用想要週末去亞選購食物，只能窩在實驗室專心做研究了！
