Each summer I always avoid to cook hot dishes in the kitchen.

Therefore, cucumber salad is my first choice when I got home.

Last time  I attended Microscopy & Microanalysis was 2019. I had very great time during the vender show and kept looking forward to attend the new one.

Luckily we got a chance to provide some training for high school students so we can get free admission to the Microscopy & Microanalysis 2022. 

It feels good to give back what I was given in the past.

Therefore, almost every spring term I would apply to join the program, and luckily this summer we had the retreat in person again.

We had the community building training at Camp Magruder where is famous for summer camp.

It was a little challange to present hands on experiment on line during the virtural meeting. I happen to have both online and in-person teaching experience this summer.

For sure that sharing slides with students is easier than writing on the white board.

This afternoon I received an email from my university to mention about the upcoming heat wave.

One year ago, our region experienced record-setting high temperatures. The Heat Dome of June 2021 was an extreme case, but a poignant reminder that we must anticipate the dangers of high and extreme heat in the summer months. After an unusually cool and wet spring, summer weather is expected to begin in earnest, with temperatures forecast to reach the 90s this weekend.  

It was extreme heat in the summer months one year ago, and I am not looking forward to experience it this year, but we don't have the power to change the weather.

In the past, I always joined the grouo order for getting some ZongZi. The price was less than $3 each in 2017. This time I was not prepared to order any rice dumpling before Dragon Boat Festival since I was getting too busy to think about it.

以往端午節我都會向朋友的媽媽購買素食的粽子（當時團購是以半打一打的買，所以都是好幾個同學一起訂，隨著同學們的陸續離開，今年我就沒加入團購的行列。）

A spring in your step can bring you to a good mood.

當春暖花開時，我喜歡悠閒的走在人行道上欣賞盛開的花，只是偶而回家後需要點眼藥水來減緩花粉過敏的不適感！

When the temperature drops dramatically at nigh in the early spring term, it is time for me to prepare shiitake mushroom chicken soup.

It is very simple to get it made by using a rice cooker.

Got a hand full of mushroom and cut it half. Slide few ginger. Add 15 g of Gou Qi Zi with 15 g of Jujube red dates ( remove the seed if you can.)

It is really important to believe you can and you're halfway there.

In the beginning of the winter term, I took a comprehensive exam from my department, and I pass it!

(By the way, a comprehensive exam is an evaluation that measures a student's competency and mastery of concepts in the field of an academic discipline.

Since the shipping fee is increasing, I got long time not to receive a care package from my family.

This time the care package went through post-shipment inspection in LA. Therefore, it took long for me to receive it.

Happy Lunar New Year, the year of tiger.

This is a greeting card from my best friend who was original from Vietnam.

This winter break we got lots snow. 

The snow stayed for long time since the winter snowstorm kept coming.

Time flies, it is time to say good bye the year of ox, and welcome the year of tiger.

Wish you lots of luck for the Tiger year.

The end  goal of the glassblowing course is to make a condenser, but I try very hard to make the T-seal done before working on a condenser.

When I want to take a break of making ring seal amd T-seal, I decide to make the second fish. I have confident person on making some artwork, but not having too much patience on repairing the holes on those joins.
