When I attend to Methods of Experimental Physics, I see few cool demonstrates.
At the end of the term, students need to show what they have learned from this course, and by doing so they can refer back what knowledge or principle can be used in the real world.
In the video, an arc flash happens when electric current flows through an air gap between conductors.
There was no wire in between the metal ball and the lamp. Once the circuit is charged correctly, the electric current was sending to the lamp. In the video only shows few seconds, but it took students long time to find out the location for putting the wires, and where to stand...
In general, this is a course I wish that I had in the past, not only to prove those principles are real, but also to show Physics is something we can apply in the real life.
