Beaverton City Library holds community crafting every other month, and I learn how to make the light switch plate become unique this time. I used to have white plastic switch plates in my room. It only took me around one hour; I have unique switch plate and outlet cover.
The trick is to use thin paper or material while you do the crafting. For instance, tissue paper will be easier to put on the light switch than wax paper. The only requirement for this project is patient.
The first step is to choose what pattern can be perfect match the color of your room, and you just simply draw the outline of the plate. You don’t need to leave lots space for the edge. After you cut the shape for the cover, you want to put it on. Remember to push from the center to the edge in case any air or bubble might stay in the middle. Before it complete dry out, you can start to make some items for making it as a 3D cover.
I use heat gel gun to make those ribbon bows, and the final result turns out as good as I expect.
I am so glad to have the opportunity in the crafting to learn something new.
住家附近的市立圖書館每隔一個月就會免費開一堂給成人的手作課，這次要求我們須自行從家裡帶小型的開關蓋，所以你可以針對臥室的插座或是廚房的電燈開關做裝飾。
在實作的過程中，我們發現有點厚度的紙比較不好操作，反而較薄的布比較可以提供我們想要的效果。
先找好要用的包裝紙或是地圖等物件，把開關的外型在紙的背面描好，並剪裁出適合的大小，不一定要刻意將邊緣範圍擴大，可以剪剛好的大小，然後用單孔的打洞機把螺絲孔的位置空出來，接著就可以開始塗白膠了，切記把紙和開關蓋黏合時要從裡（中心）往外推，才會避免有些空氣造成的泡泡讓完成品的表面不平整。
當成品作完成後也把白膠塗在表面當作保護層，因為在等待白膠乾燥的過程有點漫長，看到教室裡有些緞帶，就利用熱熔膠和緞帶做了小小的裝飾放到我的開關上，一個半小時的課程裡我完成了兩個小作品，可以讓我房間的電源開關變的獨一無二，也因為用的是白膠做接著劑，若是哪天改變主意了，也可以很清鬆的把那層裝飾用的紙沾濕後移除喔！
